Lazy kluski for lazy afternoon

Lazy kluski for lazy afternoon

Today is the first post after succesfuly migrating magdacooks.com for our new 3 year home. If the service is on the same excellent level it’s sure that we’ll stay there with all our projects. I can absolutely recommend Namecheap.com. I never ever had such a

Sometimes I need old school and homey

Sometimes I need old school and homey

Well, we are two different people, who got raised in two different traditions (and cultures) and we like different things. In the beginning I had to make a double effort to feed Cookies the way he got used to (thankfully his Mom liked a lot

Antidepresant Muffins

Antidepresant Muffins

95 chocolate muffins

Well, I know I have been neglecting Magda Cooks terribly lately. I didn’t feel like moving my pinky. You can say keep calm and stop moaning, but there is time when too many problems overwhelm you and you just lose it. Thankfully I’m optimist by nature and those times never take long. Did my problems get solved? NO! But F… IT 😉 we can have chocolate muffins for this not calm Sunday afternoon! And hell I thought it won’t work cos my halogen oven doesn’t bake very good, however, except of a little dry top the muffins were stunning 😉 Found this recipe in some old magazine and ripped it for some unknown future day. Today I decided that it is the DAY to try it! Of course I changed it a little bit, cos 2 cups of sugar is a little too much for my taste and they only called for chocolate chips and I added cocoa and ugh, almost couldn’t stop myself from eating the batter raw 0_o

Magda’s Way Beef Stew

Magda’s Way Beef Stew

As time progresses we are taught different things by our parents. It happens that certain stuff is the domain of Moms, and the others are of Dads 😉 And in my case it was the same, my Mom taught me how to cook and Dad

Easy As Pie, The Apple Pie!!

Easy As Pie, The Apple Pie!!

For the last couple weeks I was tormented by visions of apple cake, pie or whatever but absolutely with apples. I know a good recipe for an apple cake but the baking tin dedicated for it won't fit to my beloved halogen oven. I

Cookies Shepherd’s Pie

Cookies Shepherds Pie

Shepherd's Pie

Sort of Meat Pie but with Potatoes. You could easily make this with pastry crust and it would be like a ground beef pot pie… sort of. Anyway, we like a lot of vegetables and I try to utilise as many as I can, when I am called upon to do the “dirty” no, not that, NOR, washing the dishes… but when Magda Cooks, doesn't cook and Cookies gets to cook. More like IS MADE too, but I like too as well, as generally, by rule, I do stuff she does not. Henceforth, good.

Todays recipe is an easy one, not much goes into this, and can be done a number of different ways actually. I will present to you, the way I do it, but I will also try to show you some alternatives too. Basically its potatoes with mixed vegetables, and a gravy sauce from ground beef. Sounds easy? Well, guess what IT IS.

Idea dinners part 2

Cookies Wet Dream

Cookies Wet Dream

Cookies Wet Dream For as long as I can remember Cookies has been moaning how much he misses certain dishes from US. Some of those foods I managed to make, like Sloppy Joes or Dirty Rice. But one of his Holy Grails is Cinnamon Raisins

New Years Resolution

New Years Resolution

New Year Resolution

I’m sure you noticed that lately I didn’t post too much. Not that I didn’t cook and make pictures. I just didn’t feel good lately and the writing needs some inspiration which I lacked tremendously
(yes, one of my favourite words, for some unknown reason).

And since today is New Years I’ve made a resolution: I will write more and regularly and will do a lot of other crap that I probably won’t 0_o, but definitely I will do my best in writing new cooking posts and keep my blog alive.

I’ll start with TAKE THE CHIX OUT, BABES! in cranberry sauce which is as always in my kitchen – easy and tasty! I believe it’s a billionth recipe to make chicken breast eatable and not too “undiet”. I found this recipe on Disney branded site

Getting Harder…

Getting Harder…

Getting harder… As I mentioned lately it’s really hard to get new recipes for chix breasts that can be done without oven. But I’m tough and I did it… again 0_o. I found this idea on some kind of site that offered base asian recipes.
