Something easy to pack to work part 1.

Something easy to pack to work part 1.

Since I met Cookies, he is making my lunch for work (which I appreciate very much). Without him doing it, I would have to get up another 10-15 min earlier… which means around 4:30am 0_o. Yes I willingly moved my working hours to 6:30-2:30pm. Yes,

Childhood pleasure

Childhood pleasure

Childhood pleasure I believe everyone of us have a dish that has it’s origins in our childhood. Something that you loved at 6 years old and love the same way now. For me it is a vegetarian meal, that my fathers grandmother brought from her

I thought it wouldn’t be possible… This is POST #20!

It’s no wonder nor a mystery that we like pizza. We ordered humongous 4 seasons pizza from Biesiadlowo and enjoyed every piece ;-). Since I don’t have oven at the moment I thought cooking a pizza at home was a big NO NO. Until I found a FRIED PIZZA recipe on some kind ask a question site. I thought it won’t work… but since Cookies had his puppy eyes 0_o (if that’s possible with the disciple of SATAN) I’d give it a try. Thought I always can call Biesiadlowo if it won’t work, what the hell 😉

The end result was spectacular! You wouldn’t say it’s pizza made/fried on the pan! Cookies even helped and made his secret tomato sauce, which is no longer secret…

Ingredients for 2 medium pizzas

For the dough:
500g all purpose flour
10g yeast
1 glass of warm water
3 spoons of oil/olive oil
1 tsp fructose (or any sugar)
1,5 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
Topping: pepper salami, shredded cheese, red pepper – just what I had, I believe it will be awesome with anything you want.

For the sauce
6 tsp tomato concentrate
2 tbsp oil/olive oil
1 tsp fructose
salt, pepper
pinch of oregano, basil, thyme

Preparations:
Put yeast into glass of warm water along with sugar and set aside for couple minutes, until yeast starts growing. Prepare tomato sauce: combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir thoroughly, set aside.

Put flour into a bowl, put salt and pour water with yeast, oil, oregano and basil – start mixing with a spoon. After it starts looking like a dough use your hand and knead it for a minute. After that transfer onto the ledge sprinkled with flour and knead some more until dough is smooth and flexible. Put into a bowl and set aside for couple minutes to let the yeast work. After 10 min. it should be significantly bigger. Divide it in half. Heat your pan, while you roll the dough to needed size – mine was very uneven 0_o hehehe had to use tin foil roll ;-). When the dough is ready, place it on the DRY pan and heat for 2-3 min on medium heat, turn upside down and start preparing toppings – tomato sauce, sprinkle with cheese, pepper, salami, oregano – basil, then put good amount of cheese to cover it. Fry on DRY pan COVERED on small heat for 5-10 min. You have to pay attention, cause first one took 10 min and second only 8.

Serve hot and steamy!!

Until next time, take care of yourself and each other 0_o

P.S. Cookies said it was REMARKABLE, and he was shocked how good it worked,
YEAH BABY!

Years of searching for the flavour…

Years of searching for the flavour…

Years of searching for the flavour…

Probably sounds serious… but it’s just a search for the sesame dressing I ate in a Thai Salad that was served in a no longer existing (at least in) Warsaw restaurant called “Cafe Brama.”
I think until 2010 there was one in NYC’s East Village.  As for ingredients, it wasn’t nothing special. Some iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, grilled chicken and this absolutely delicious sesame oil dressing. I still try to find this flavour. I was hoping this would be it, with this recipe for Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad, but it just wasn’t. The salad however was very tasty but it wasn’t the dressing that I remembered. Though this recipe is worth preparing. It’s filling and made with wholegrain pasta therefore it’s also diet ;-).

Ingredients:

2 tsp sesame seeds
250 g bow tie pasta (I had these cute little bow ties that Lubella makes)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp fructose (or white sugar)
1 cm of ginger
black pepper
double grilled or baked chicken breast
white pepper
handful chopped fresh cilantro or PARSLEY 🙂
few green onions
Optional: handful of roasted peanuts

Preparations:

Boil pasta along the instruction. Cut chicken into cubes or shred (though I don’t know how, the meat is soft, right? 0_o). Toast sesame seeds and peanuts on the dry pan (separate). In a jar combine vegetable oil, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, sesame seeds, ginger, and pepper. Shake well.

Cut pepper into small pieces, onion into feather like strips add everything to the bowl with pasta and pour dressing over it 😉 On top, toss roasted peanuts and fresh cilantro or parsley.
I bet we could add some more veggies, like carrots, maybe next time 😉

Until next time, take care of yourself and each other 0_o

P.S. Cookies rated it OK!! #HEEL ugh…

Nibbly little thing for lunch

Nibbly little thing for lunch Lately I was asked if I only cook dinner meals, since I constantly think what to eat for any of my meals. I’m posting something for lunch, that I got the idea for by standing in the store in front

New idea I started writing this blog, cos I love to share good food and cooking ideas. Couple weeks ago I got this thought to create a section for recipes of my friends. I talked it through with Madzia, who loves to indulge in good

Hot potato caprese…

Hot potato caprese…

Last couple days I didn’t cook much. All because of this damn heat. Everyday over 90F (32C) and almost 100% humidity, you already feel like flowing in the freaking soup much less cooking one… Yesterday we simply ate fries that Cookies masterfully made. Always crispy outside and soft inside – perfect.

Now when I write it I just noticed that I made another potato meal today. Just wanted to rest from meat and since I saw this recipe somewhere I decided to make my own version of hot caprese salad with potatoes or better ON potatoes. As usual easy and not involving 0_o

Ingredients for two (always for two)
5 medium new potatoes
1 ball of smoked mozzarella (can also be regular one)
1 tomato
if you grow it 😉 use fresh basil, I used dried one
tiny bit of pepper fromage cheese (but any spiced cream cheese will do)
drip of oil
salt, pepper
and last but not least the IMMORTAL PARSLEY!! LOL

Preparations:

Boil potatoes until soft, steam out and set aside. Cut mozzarella into slices, tomato also into slices, or half slices if the potatoes aren’t too big. Cut each potato horizontally, sprinkle with salt. Smear a little of fromage cheese on top, put a slice of tomato and cover with slice of mozzarella. Sprinkle with black pepper and basil. Heat grill pan (or outside grill), smear bottoms of the potatoes with oil, or just simply deep it fast in tiny bit of oil 😉 and put halves of potatoes on the pan and grill under cover until nicely marked and the mozzarella is melted. Toss some parsley on top and serve with anything else you please 😉 I didn’t feel like making anything else…

Enjoy nice evening with your co-sleeper 😉

Until next time, take care of yourself and each other.

P.S. Cookies liked it a lot, thought didn’t feel like rating… he didn’t sleep last night cos Kakuniu was scared of the storm. Poor doggieguys!!!

Cookies 10th favourite… For this past Monday’s meal I cooked Cookies 10th favourite chicken meal. I think it’s an all time easy dinner. I spent 25 min all together in the kitchen making this dish. As much as I love to cook, I like fast
