Greek Style Salad With A Twist

Greek Style Salad With A Twist

I think I wanted to post a recipe of greek salad since I started blogging. I consider it one of the easiest, tastiest salads you can make at home. I didn’t post it, because the base one, I would like to think that everyone knows

New Love

New Love As I mentioned a couple times before, I try to prepare some vegetarian meals from time to time, always looking for new ideas, cos lets be honest – I’m a carnivore and I like “my piece of meat.” Thought as scientists and Cookies

Beans Season ;-)

Beans Season ;-)

Beans Season 😉

Yesterday, was one of the hottest days this year, and probably in the last couple years. I had scheduled some chicken dish, but the heat was so overwhelming we decided to eat a veggie meal. The other day we bought again nice bunch of yellow wax beans and green beans, so I started looking for inspiration. Didn’t want to have a hot meal – outside was 90F (32C) so I settled for a salad. On one of sites that collects recipes from different sources I found greek influenced salad with feta cheese and tomatoes. I thought it’s nice base to start with ;-). My version of this appetising salad got additional veggies and a different dressing.

Ingredients:
25 dag fresh yellow wax beans
25 dag fresh green beans
1 big tomato without skin
1 small kohlrabi
1 box feta cheese
2 bags of Knorr french dressing
parsley

Preparations:
Start from talking your husband/bf into preparing beans (Cookies is easy to talk into that task  – at least one 0_o)  Ask him to cut each in half. Cook beans together in salted water with pinch of a sugar of your choice, until soft but al-dente. Cool fast with cold water, set aside. While beans are cooking, you can use the hot water to get rid of skin from the tomato. When it’s done, cool it. Peel skin from kohlrabi and cut into match like strips. Prepare dressing according to the instruction on the bag ;-). Cube feta cheese then arrange veggies on the plate or bowl. Mix of beans, tomatoes cut into half slices, kohlrabi, feta cheese and dressing on top.

Serve chilled – again white wine would be nice addition.

Until next time, take care of yourself and each other

P.S. Cookies rated it INTERESTING (in good meaning).

Feta Pulpetki, disaster or success?

Feta Pulpetki, disaster or success?

Feta Pulpetki, disaster or success? As today is Sunday, I wanted to shine in the kitchen and make something completely new plus that was very vegetarian… I was deliberating if I should post it, but since I’m not a fancy chef I’m prone to mistakes.
