Antidepresant Muffins

Antidepresant Muffins

Well, I know I have been neglecting Magda Cooks terribly lately. I didn’t feel like moving my pinky. You can say keep calm and stop moaning, but there is time when too many problems overwhelm you and you just lose it. Thankfully I’m optimist by

The Hottest Day 0_o

The Hottest Day 0_o

Well, today is the hottest day this summer and I surely hope the last one. I just simply despise heat! I wanted to cool down so much I couldn’t find myself a place until I got home 😛 Yes, we invested into AC, few months

Chocoholic Heaven

Chocoholic Heaven

85 chocoholic heaven

I remember I confessed that I’m a chocoholic in one of my older posts (Moment of Truth), since that moment I tried to withdraw but it’s harder than anything ;-). Okay, I didn’t try that hard :P. So when Cookies told me about Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, I thought it will be easy to recreate them at home, and actually it was 0_o. I browsed some Internet sites to get idea how to do it, and when I got the feel I created my own little recipe. Also because tried to do it as much diet as possible… and if you close your eyes on the powdered sugar and this tiny amount of butter it is 0_O Eh, to feel better you could use only bitter chocolate with min. 70% of cocoa – that’s MORE diet for sure.

Light Snack or Dessert

Light Snack or Dessert

Probably I mention that Cookies often comes back very late from work and unfortunately he doesn’t believe into eating before he goes so his last meal is very late. And since one of the rules in The Mullen Household is to eat at least

A couple weeks ago, on a Sunday I was so bored I couldnt find myself a comfortable place. I was antsy to do something, but didn’t know what. I was bugging Cookies for some entertainment and he probably being annoyed reminded me about those great little chocolates I showed him the day before from The Kitchn (http://www.thekitchn.com/).

Smirking, he asked if I would like to try to make them and he will sacrifice his FREE TIME 0_o and go for the ingredients… I couldn’t believe how much it brightened my day ;-). We went to the nearest store (I won’t mention which, cause I actually don’t like it – though no choice) and purchased the items that I was lacking.

Ingredients:
3 nice yellow bananas – no black spots but must be firm
1,5 dark chocolate bar (150g), of course if you are not on a diet… use milk chocolate, what the hell! 0_o
¼ of a cube of butter
and
A mix of products you could sprinkle on the chocolates – since I fight with myself to not eat real sweets I went diet: coconut flakes, sliced almonds and sesame cookies. It can be anything, crushed cookies, peanuts, anything that you like or have.

Preparations:
Melt the chocolate with butter in a water bath (put the bowl on the pot with slow boiling water). While the chocolate is melting, cut the bananas into mouth size bites, and then set aside. When the chocolate is melted nice and shiny, take the bowl off the heat and let it cool down – I just left it on the windowsill for 15 min.

Stick a fork into the cut banana and coat it thoroughly with chocolate (you can do it with your hands, but since I’m clumsy and constantly dropping everything, I used a fork). Stick the banana into coating and cover fully. Keep repeating this process until you are out of bananas. After all is done, put it into the freezer for 3h.

Enjoy a nice dessert after Sunday dinner.

And until next time, take care of yourself and each other 0_o

P.S. The original recipe you can find here, again I found it on The Kitchn.
